my story
With a background in filmmaking, I've been screen-printing for over 15 years as a creative outlet when I wasn't working on set. In 2024, I began laying the foundation for Jōhatsu—a one-man brand rooted in craftsmanship and ethical values—and officially launched it during Summer 2025.
Inspired by D.I.Y. culture, brutalist concepts, and minimal aesthetics, Jōhatsu is my way of building life on my own terms. Having personally navigated depression, it's fundamental to me that a portion of proceeds supports mental health initiatives.
Every piece is hand-printed with care, and imperfect garments are donated to local homeless charities—nothing goes to waste.
Naming the brand Jōhatsu was intentional. It's a Japanese term meaning "evaporation," often used to describe people who intentionally disappear to escape personal struggles or societal pressures. To me, it represents stepping away from an old life and beginning again with clear purpose.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
